Planning for the Big Day + Flat

I am supposed to be enjoying the whole planning process for my wedding. But... The thought of budget constraint is just so sad. So couples out there, please save more money in order to have "your" perfect wedding. I am now in a dilemma. To engage or not to engage Lightedpixels for my local pre-wedding photoshoot. (FYI, I already have a Taiwan pre-wed photoshoot package). I had always wanted to engage them to Paris for my pre-wed PS. But its highly over our budget so dear dear suggested a local one instead. To engage??? Don't engage??? I know I am so difficult to please.

On top of that, HDB is really getting on my nerves. Its been 6 months since we applied for the Sale Of Balance Flat (Since Mar 12). To date, no news at all! Emailed HDB a couple of times to enquire about the current queue no. To our horror, there is no selection going on at the moment and there is only 2 5 room/ Executive flat left. Why is getting a flat so difficult when some couples just try for the fun of it and got their flats when both of us are really in need of getting 1 asap.

Probably I should put up the following suggestions to HDB:
- Include these fields in the application:
~ Wedding date (so that they know the urgency of issuing a flat to those who are really in need of a flat!
In order to justify the wedding date, document like booking of banquet should be produced.)
~ Staying near parents? (I know they do have one which ask if your parents are going to stay with you)
Obviously there must be a valid reason why you want to stay in that estate. For us, both our parents
stay in the same estate that's why we want to get a flat around here.

Although there are people out there who also need a flat as urgently as us, but I believe not 100% of those who applied need it asap.

HDB should know that having a house is just the beginning. We have to spend a sum of money to renovate the house. Of course the renovation can be kept as simple as possible in order to minimise the amount of cash outflow. On top of that, we also need to set aside a big sum of money for our furniture and electrical which don't come cheap. So its really good if we can get a flat asap so that we can spread out our cash outflow by buying the furniture and electrical in phases to enjoy the maximum cash rebates from the different credit card company. Like that, we are not only able to minimise our cash outflow and cash rebates, we wouldn't come across the situation when we have to pay all together in a month. [Dear dear and I do not like to pay our expenses by installments].
